The 14th TBF was held on May 11-14, 2017 at the premises of the International Exhibition and Congress Center of Thessaloniki (TIF-Helexpo), and its main topic was the European South in literature, culture, history and politics.
Within the framework of “The Quest of the South,” several important writers travelled to Thessaloniki, such as Pascal Bruckner, Jaume Cabré, Salim Bachi, Erri De Luca, Mathias Énard, Santiago Roncagliolo etc.
The TBF program comprised four thematic areas; namely, the work of the renowned Greek writer Nikos Kazantzakis, the completion of 100 years since the October Revolution of 1917, the Refugee Issue and the Cultural Year Greece-China 1917.
The New Writers’ Festival and the Translation Festival were successfully organized, while Children’s Corner, which is a favorite both among adults and children, hosted talented writers and artists from Italy, France and Germany.
